I have spoken to a few members about OVO (energy company) and how I get 5% interest on my credit balance.

Basically, we have a monthly plan and you can decide how much you want to pay. They then pay you interest on the credit of your balance. It is 3% in the first year, 4% in the second year and 5% from the third year onwards. There is a maximum balance they will pay it on which is £1000.

Until tomorrow they are offering a £50 Amazon gift card to anyone referred by me and I get one too!

They also offer you £30 for switching to smart meters.

We moved to OVO because they were the cheapest supplier, we have stayed because of how of all the benefits.

Have a look if you wish:

I'm a bit wary of these energy company's, I used to be with Iresa and had no problems with them, they were cheap compared to all others and always answered any queries after a couple of day, but Ofgem closed them down to many complaints and they moved everyone to Octopus Energy telling us all our credit with Iresa is protected, well I'm still waiting for over £300 I was in credit and my son is owed just over £500 and still waiting. I have now moved to a company called Energysmart, again very competitive price, I recently had an email saying that if I pay for my energy supply upfront for the year they will pay 10% interest. Once bitten twice shy, don't think I will be taking them up on this offer, I note another couple of energy companys have folded this year, shame as I think the big 6 rip us off. I was with OVO myself for a while and they were excellent, only moved to a different supplier when my fix ended with them and i did a comparison and found Iresa who were quite a bit cheaper at the time. Lol
