2002 Sprinter V 2002 (or later) Ducato etc

I've owned MB, fiat, VW crafter and now a citroen, the MB was heavy so unfair to compare it to a 3.5ton van but it would rarely return over 20mpg, the Crafter 5 cylinder around 24-26mpg, the fiat (2010) around 28mpg and this new Citroen 2litre (euro6) can achieve 34mpg quite regularly, a big consideration when deciding. I accept MB make good engines but I think Peugeot Citroen have been making them for a while too with good high mileage results. I rarely exceed 65mph though.

Very fair comments and you've had a far wider experience than me. I just find it so hard to be at the mercy of a diesel lump with an ECU even knowing how reliable electronics and how much better on juice they can be so.... I pop in an oldun that takes old veggie oil too. 65 mph would be a dream come true :)

Good point Bedon, it's due it's first service (2yrs) next week and it's £350! but that does include brake fluid, big deal..

Merc Sprinter every time, no competition - autoshift gears, 4 wheel drive, Merc reliability, fuel economy. Shame about the Italian stuff on top!

£350. :-0. I'd be in tears... and can feel the pain from here!
