I remember only having one small tin bin .not a problem as most rubbish went on the fire back .

Bet you had not many eggs if you eat the chickens at weekends.

Dad used to order the chicks, 6 at a time - we had to go to the railway station to pick them up. They came as 6 female chicks, packed with 6 "free" male ones to keep them warm - so as the cockerels grew up, we ate them, and we ate the old ladies when they stopped laying. So we had lots off eggs and chickens to eat.
