A DAY OF MIXED MESSAGES - and it only 7:30am

Woke at 4am for a tiddle, as one does, thought bloody chilly.
Squinted at thermometer, hmm 10 in, 2 out.
Returned to slumber.
Awoke at 5 to feel a need to put heating on.
Just put kettle on and looked outside to realise why motorhoming is enjoyable.
See pics, RHS a babbling Brook in frost, LHS snow covered mountains.
So in few hours went from bloody cold to bloody amazing.

As if the day could not become more bizarre.
By noon, we had discovered a Lidl, an Aldi, also Intermarche.
So took the scenic road and ended up in Lourdes.
A short T break, beside the river, parking behind a van that through the rear windows seemed to be full of carpet underlay.
A few minutes later a whooping and hollering was heard eminating from a bunch of youths - all dressed in soft brown uniform and shorts - SCOUTS.
They arrived at the van with the carpet underlay.
I politely reversed to give them more space, and they then revealed the underlay to be - yep specsavers moment - their sleeping roll mats of various guises.
Now that's not all - we continued into Lourdes, to discover a very quiet town, only a few pedestrians, but a significant more number of Mountain bikers.
WHY? - The UCI Mountain bike world Cup round 1 was being held up by the funicular.
Found the aire parking was free, parking in town also free, aire had no facilities though.
So we visited the arena, watched the qualifying rounds fir an hour, chatted with a few English parents supporting sons racing, and decided to stay.
Found the Irish Pub, took part in a Moonlit Torchlight Rosary Procession around the Basilica, and watched F1 qual.
Not bad for a day that started with no plan amid lovely scenic pics.
