Went in March this year. Wild camping is illegal in Croatia. P4n have loads of wilding spots.
If you are going to sites many don't open till mid March. If you want to go to Dubrovnik you have to drive through a small part of Bosnia. Most UK insurers won't insure for Bosnia. Insurance can be bought at border. Have been told its 3rd party only. It is possible to get a ferry to an island and drive down that way avoiding Bosnia.
Don't miss the Plitvika Lakes. The Kirka national Park is also good. Split has the Roman Diocletians Palace at its heart and good food and drink. The Istrian peninsula has Pula and Porec which are worth visiting. Much of Coatia inland still bears scars from the war in the 90s. English is spoken everywhere.
I much preferred Slovenia!
