Annoyed with myself

We are having a bit of a mild spell up here so I unhooked the lecky on the van and turned the water heater on this afternoon had a sudden temperature drop and it dumped all 140 litres of water aaarghh bloody motorhome. ??

Oh no! Bad luck Annie. Mine doesn't 'dump' so I don't have that problem but I managed to create my own last time out. I filled up about half full of water at home but completely forgot that I'd left everything, including the boiler tap, open to drain... didn't notice until I stopped to get gas and Birdie was 'weeing' all over the forecourt :Tears_of_Joy_Emoji:

Jenny you have such a turn of phrase 'weeing all over the forecourt ' there so many other ways of saying that and most of us would use the other ways.
It's so refreshing to read your words of wisdom.

Sowwy. It was possibly Freudian, after seeing the word 'dumped' :Flushed_Face_Emoji:

You can put a peg (2) on the dump valve, as long as you don't let the temperature drop to freezing point as that would damage the boiler

Yes Admin put me a wire on it that I could stop it dumping but it came off and I couldn't reach to put if back on but I will sort it once the better weather arrives on a more permanent bases lol for now I will just have to refill when I need to I never had this with my PVC.?

Two clothes pegs fit on the red plunger, and stop it dumping!

Love your description Jennie, best laugh of the day.
I've done the same myself, luckily I was at home and realised what was happening.
I don't have a dump valve either, I didn't realize they went into panic mode at such a relatively high temperature, you learn summat new every day.

I stripped my valve down and removed the electrononics from it so my valve is now manual, I have kept all the bits removed in case I sell it to an idiot

Like me you mean lol ????

Does the heater actually empty though, on some vans the dump valve thingy is a few feet away from the boiler, any kind of slope might mean water is still in there, so I go for a drive with the valve open, twisty roads good, main roads bad.

Filled ours up yesterday, going to run a full tank of hot soapy water through the waste system to clear it out, go for a drive to slosh it about then dump it on the drive drain.

I dragged 110 litres down to Henley the valve opened dumped the lot .creating a ice skating ring .

Annie, when bad things happen, just go to the mirror, give yourself a right proper telling off and get loads of sympathy at same time....works for me! :Loudly_Crying_Face_:Flushed_Face_Emoji::Hugging_Face_Emoji:

Hopefully I will continue to learn by my mistakes lol

So funny, your PVC never had a water heater which is why it never dropped the tank (which you also did not have).

Turn off your water pump and it wont dump all the water.

Too late with the water pump advice Batman I now have 5% left lol and you can stop laughing or else. ?
