I had an email from them yesterday suggesting that I could upload my French sworn declaration and also my pre departure antigen test results to their website so it would speed up transit through the border controls.

Has anyone done this in the last couple of weeks? If so did it work i.e. did you not have to produce physical documents as well?

Yes we travelled through the tunnel before Christmas, we uploaded all the documentation required and we were through in about 15mins. We even had a Guide Dog traveling with us, and that process has been speeded up.
We also kept a copy open on ipad just in case.

Just uploaded all except test result which will be done on day. Had already printed the papers as I found it too fiddly on my phone. I think it said to have hard copies in case the French border wanted them. I took it that it was a requirement, not an option, to upload, but could be wrong!

We are in Folkestone now. All documents uploaded. There is a delay when the negative test results are uploaded so Id advise doing that as soon as you can, as the tunnel authorities have to check them and verify them. I uploaded ours around 4.00pm yesterday and got verification at 3.00am today.

We have printed copies too just in case. except o the test result which I have downloaded onto my wife's tablet in case they want to see them.

We travelled mid-December, had uploaded all documents previously. Why wouldn't you? Can't honestly remember whether UK passport control wanted sight of documents, grumpy Frenchman wanted passport and Covid passports only.

Travelled on Wednesday ... uploaded all documents. Not asked to show hard copies.

Do download and scan your vax Bircotes into tousanticovid app ... just had to have this scannerestaurant into a restauant.

Have a good trip

Thanks

Yes we travelled through on Weds too. The uploaded docs worked a treat and we only had to show our passport and proof of vaccination.

I have the French App which works well for me however not for my wife as, despite having had 3 jabs (3 main ones not 2 plus a booster), the NHS records in Wales cannot currently show her up to date records. Mine is fine with 2 plus a booster though! As a result hers looks out of date...which it isn't.

It's a crazy system which makes no sense but despite my having it out with them, it's not going to be changed until the end of Feb apparently. The Covid helpline did however write us a letter stating that she has had 3 doses, so hopefully this will prevail (alongside proof of her first 2 jabs) when/if we need to use it for a cafe/resto etc

We did have to show the paper copies to the French at border but having downloaded everything to Eurotunnel, the UK border was easy and would have been quick if we hadn't been behind someone who had obviously not prepared. After fifteen minutes he ended up being taken to one side as the queue was building, frustratingly watched about seven vehicles pass through in the queue next to us!

France only requires a test done within 48 hours of arrival now, which eases things a little for those who have to travel some distance to the port/tunnel

Thanks

I too live in Wales so have to put up with their 2nd rate health system and was extremely frustrated to find I couldn’t use the NHS app but people with GP’s in Wales can use the NHS website instead of the NHS App to get their passes

I now have covid vaccine certificates downloaded to my phone and tablet an added to phone wallet
via the NHS WEBSITE

Use link :- https://covid-status.service.nhsx.nhs.uk/

you Will need you NHS number and a passport or photo drivers license which has to have a photo of it uploaded during the application plus a short video of the applicant speaking 4 specific numbers presented to you to conform that you are the person in the passport once they have checked you receive a confirmation email a few hours later

We only have good things to say about the NHS service in Wales tbh. We get more use than most due to my wife's MS and the hospitals and local Dr's surgery have been first class.

As I mentioned, I had already downloaded my info (2 jabs plus booster) some time ago, with no problem and have them on the Tousanticovid French app. I have now also persuaded our Health Board to amend my wife's records to show her 3 doses now as well (she has had 3 main doses but now shows as 2 + booster, so that her records are shown as up to date). I have downloaded both of us onto the French app.

Re the Declaration sur l'honneur, did you print and sign the form, hand write and sign it [which DFDS say is acceptable], or just have a downloaded version on your phone with your personal details completed, and your 'signature' typed in? And did the Border Guards, Eurotunnel staff bother with the inspection?

Re the LFT result [we'll use Lloyds Pharmacy en route to the Ferry the day befor sailing, so if we do test positive, we save 360 miles off the return journey]; we have to present our passports, so is the QR Code tied to the Passport Number and the Test Results sent to your mobile/Tablet/Laptop?

I downloaded and typed them up Steve and then uploaded them to the Tunnel website on my account. I also printed a copy and hand filled them in (why I didn't print the typed ones I don't know!). I put Rouen as our final destination as it was where we were staying that night. I wasn't asked for the hard copies at the tunnel customs point.

In terms of the LFT, I used an on line company who were great. They emailed confirmation of our negative tests within an hour. I logged into my account with them and could have downloaded them from there but they also emailed them to me as a pdf too. I downloaded then to my laptop and uploaded them again to the Tunnel website. Again not asked for any had copies or further confirmation at the tunnel customs. In fact all we had to show there was our passport and confirmation of vaccination status...which we had printed copies of.

When we had to send the test results off to the on line company I had to take a photo with our ID next to each of the tests. I used our passports but could have used any photo ID like a drivers licence. The certificate we got back did not have a QR code.

Thanks, Graham, that's really helpful. We've booked the LFTs at Lloyds Pharmacy in Amblecote, Stourbridge, and we have to take in photo ID [Passport required for travel tests], so I hope that Lloyds has a 'joined up' process for the proof process

Do DFDS have a website where you can upload the copies to save using hard copies at the customs place? That would be useful as it was a great help at the tunnel I think.

I looked at doing clinic tests in Folkestone but the only place we could have done them (Hope Clinic) did not have parking for the MH.

What I found surprising is that Motorway Services in the UK have testing places for lorry drivers and coach drivers but not for the general public. They are missing a trick with that as I would have thought it would be a good source of revenue...especially as the one we drove passed in one service station had zero punters in there to test and had 4 or so testers standing around doing nowt!

As are the NHS their testing station 2 mls from us are doing very little and could be doing these tests easily be a good source of revenue for them

No, Graham, the DFDS website is years behind on the technology [they took over the Newhaven route from Louis Dreyfus Lines some years ago, and seem to have bolted the system on. The 20% discount if you are 60+ has to be applied for by phone, despite there being a Discount Code Field on the Webpage, the Freefone number has been withdrawn, you can get a cancellation refund for use on 'any DFDS route, unless you booked for Newhaven, in which case the refund can only be applied to that route' etc. But when you do phone, the French Contact Centre are very polite ...
