Anyone following The Ashes?

I bailed out when Root went.
I'm not prepared to sneak out of my cosy wife- warmed bed at 4am, to listen to that rubbish.

Well at least we are putting up a bit of fight this morning albeit that it will be too little, too late I suspect.

Well that was all very disappointing.

I can't see past the Aussies winning 5-0 now especially with the other players in the squad who don't seem like earth shattering replacements if changes are made.

Still, never mind. It'll soon be Christmas!

...then this is the thread for you!

I love cricket, it is second only to rugby for me. I have been fortunate to watch some of a previous Ashes in Australia at the Melbourne Test in 2002. An amazing experience and I would dearly love to do the whole tour one day.

Anyway a not unfamiliar start to England's batting today with a paltry 172. We'll have to see how that racks up when the Aussies have batted.
Watching my ashes

Bugger me...we won a match!

I turn my back for a couple of days....
And look what happens!
Inconsistent, this lot.

Lovely century from Root today and now we seem to have some proper Test Match cricket breaking out!

Don't bank on it.
The Aussies are sniffing for a whitewash
English bowling looks fragile.

How can they have a whitewash? We won the last Test.

Well that's all over with for another couple of years.

Where England go from here in terms of management/selection/ethos remains to be seen!
