hi all,
Anyone any ideas/tips for places to overnight NW of Malaga next week when I do Caminito del Rey.
i was up near a reservoir that way 2 years ago and there was a nice camp site in the woods further on from Ardales somewhere I think.
or should we be brave and just park up in a nice large lay-by area at the side of the road.
anyone done the walk? I presume no overnighting nr the start point?

Hi, at one time there was talk of building an information centre up near the lakes but as i havent been up there for a year or two i dont know if it has been biult, if you go from Malaga up the A357 to Ardales and turn onto the MA5403, follow this road to the lakes, you will come the road junction, the MA 5403 turns off to the right down to El Chorro, go straight on and you will find plenty of Wilding sites, there is also a Camp site but i think this will be closed, also along this road there is a tunnel on the right side which you go through on foot and at the end has spectaular views, if you follow on down the road you will come to the dams and the restaurants and hotel, plenty of parking but i dont think they will let you overnight.
If you go up from El Chorro bewhere of the overhang.
Enjoy your walk it must be fantastic to be able to do this, sadly i am now past my best for this sort of thing.

This place is indeed wonderful. Ta. A fair way from Caminito del Rey but that was incredible also.
