Hi Penny,Hi Marchie
We have found it and thank you. Did you go by train to Barcelona if you did how long did it take. Did it feel safe, I realise that’s only a gut feeling nothing in concrete![]()

Hi Penny,
No, we didn't make it Barcelona, we were enjoying exploring Vilafranca, Santa Margarida and a couple of the more remote Vineyard Aires too much. We did stay in Barcelona in 2006 for a City Break and wandered around with gay abandon, running from one Gaudi building to another, via Tapas Bars and cafes, marvelling at being able to wander along the beach wearing tee shirts in December etc. We should probably have been more aware of pickpockets etc, but we never felt threatened, and we were having such a great time [until I got us locked out of the Apartment; but I learned from the concierge how to use a plastic exercise book cover to open a Yale lock, so a useful skill acquired that came in handy 5-6 years later when Elaine locked us out of our Flat on Xmas Eve}, that we just got on with enjoying life!
We have an Ecosse sticker on Brunhilde, and as soon as the locals in Vilafranca spotted that, we were best mates. Fabulous people.

The Old Town is a delight to explore, spotting the Human Tower Statue plaques and tiles and the bakeries are fabulous [measured against the length of the queue on Sunday mornings!] We had some lovely Tapas from the Bar on the Ramblas [called the Rambals Bar? Brain fade!], with the maroon Sun Shade above [between the Chinese Burger Bar and the Posh Restaurant with hundreds of outside Tables]. It look a we bit seedy but is a wee gem!We are now on the free aire at Vilafranca del Penedes. It would be fine to pop to Barcelona from here the police presence is good the aire itself bollarded off. For us we stayed a Saturday night and the market is fab on a Sunday and the whole area needs a big explore. Another 11 aires for free walks cycling vineyards castles and even the sea
Thank you Marchie a very good call.
