Bed slats.

Last winter our MH timber bed slats got damp through condensation and about 3/4 of them lost their effectiveness. The bed is above the garage and placing a sheet of 25mm polystyrene below it resolved the condensation issue. Looking around for some replacement slats IKEA were good value so I got a standard double bed pack for £25 to fit the two single frames which are a double. They are exactly the right width and of sufficient overall length to make good. The new slats are narrower so the choice of having a bit larger gaps between them or modify the end cap spacings to suit. Well there is no point in making extra work so I'll try the former first which will give even more breathability to the matteress.

The original slats were 64 x 8mm and 5 ply. The replacements are 50 x 10mm and 7 ply and seem a bit stronger though overall will likely perform about the same.
