Best Fish and Chips

Bill the best chippy around is Paul’s about 200yds from your front door. My Dad had a saying never eat or buy fish chips if you can’t see the sea.

Ridiculous as it is I’ve never had fish and chips from Pauls, must give it a try.

Dumfries, next door to the Chinese and Farm Fresh Food place, we went in because the Chinese was shut and will definitely go in there next time we pass through. Decisions, decisions as the Chinese serves a huge and tasty amount.

While we are praising can I add one to avoid, we went into the only one in Lochgilphead a while ago and I was very displeased with the quality of the fish and the chips weren’t great. It wasn’t worth my while going back to complain, I’ll just vote with my feet next time.

It is indeed Marie, about the very middle of the country, but this guy(ex chef) really is the business. The driest, crispiest chips and amazing fresh haddock with crispy dry batter. He also does great chip toppers and a few puds.Damn, now I'm hungry. Only open thurs-sat.

Village of saxilby near Lincoln. Very tasty. Consistent quality.

Have you noticed that every chip shop you enter has a sign hung up saying " award winning fish n chips " ?
