I found this video interesting. Also worth considering when related to turning off gas bottles in transit unless you have an auto cut off, in these crashes I would imagine that the gas piping from the bottles would be severed.
the driver was dead after that and a fire would be the last thing to worry about. The A class had the entire engine and front suspension where the driver was sitting. No room for him after that.
Anyone who has ever sailed always turns the gas bottles off at source, years of paranoia and sniffing the bilges (pardon the expression) are hard to forget. If you have ever seen someone on a yacht hand pumping the bilge pump with nothing apparently coming out will know what I mean!
Terrifying! Don't know if you noticed but the table in the A class hit the 'child' directly in the throat. Worth stowing tables away if you've got rear passengers
I wasn't surprised to see the coach built doing better - the cab will have been designed to pass crash tests.
