I did have to bend the metal bracket a bit as well but the mirrow does move up and down plus side to side

Might try those.
I have a problem with my drivers mirror that means it is of very little use due to the position I need the drivers seat in plus the Reimo side blind frame.

I took the bracket of mine and removed my mirror lens on the big van one, then drilled a hole through the main body and bolted it on, then replaced my mirror lens, slight heating and bending with the heat gun to tilt forward slightly, job sorted and looks like factory fit.
