Boulogne Aire barrier
The Boulogne Aire, the one on the D940 opposite the Friterie, has now got a barrier across the entrance – if you didn't already know.
You have to pay before entering and there is no chance of parking up for an hour or two without paying for the privilege.
We were going to watch from the Aire the sea battering the shore a few days ago, the Police had blocked off the road just below the Aire because the waves were crashing over the road, but we didn't fancy paying for only a few minutes stay.
The Aire was completely empty - which we've never seen before.
We've never used it overnight but often stop to enjoy a bag of frites - but not any more.
If you go past it this year please let us know how well used, or not, the Aire is.
Sorry the picture isn't very clear but the sun was directly in front of the camera and that never gives a good result.
