Bush fires in Northern Portugal and Spain

Just the odd persistent fire.
I hear that some rain came overnight from theN.W.

Bragança, that's the district where I was born 🤪
Lovely area. And Motorhome friendly.
We got stuck in some roadworks, one Sunday, knew it would be a couple of hours, so asked a guy, also, trapped, if there was a decent restaurant nearby.
"Follow us " he said.
Had a wonderful leisurely lunch with them, practicing their English.
When we got up to leave, I asked about the bill...
" It's already been paid", was the reply .
I asked the manager if they were regular customers, so we could thank them

" He's the Education Minister ",
Was his response.
Serendipity!

We full timed in the van for 4½ years.
We'd been recommended Portugal as Nice climate, British friendly and cheap living.

Then Management needed a base.
We bought a semi ruin near Tavira and spent the next 17 winters doing it up. Leaving on Mayday and heading for so called UK summer.

Our final visit gave us Long term Covid, just improving after over 3 years.

We had to move to Sâo Brâs de Alportel, on the N2, above Faro. A nice little town with all the facilities that we need, nearby.

And here we stay.
If you find yourselves doing the N2 trail, give us a pm if you need any advice.
Safe travels.

Wet day up north. Steady rain from NW. And across to Salamanca.
It doesn't get within 10 miles of us though. Hopefully next week.
Looks like I'm off duty , this year

There are still a few fires in northern Spain Paul, we are keeping our eyes on them as there are some in our vicinity and we don't want to venture any further south as we are waiting for Ken to catch up towards the end of next week, so we will meander around and keep our eyes open 👀
