There looks to be a good road that is close to this train route.

Our mega trip was prevented in 2020.
Maybe we wil fly to Calgary and do this at some stage.
For many reasons a full 6 months is now not viable
Ps Love the bbc

I think you'll find the Skeena is it's old name, and that it now runs under the mouthful of "Jasper to Prince Rupert Train" and was covered by a Michael Portillo programme, but darned if I can remember which.

I watched the Portillo Canada progs but do not recall this one.
My thoughts are to do this by a vehicle hired in Canada after we sell the motorhome.
But who knows ?

CAMH Club were advertising 2 Canadian Tours for 2022/23 and a South African Tour for 2022. Great itineraries, but my spreadsheet suggested that the 3 trips would cost about 50% of the cost of a Motorhome. And that's how we became M/Home owners!

The cost of transporting motorhome to Halifax together with flights insurance x2 and other "infrasructure" costs was just shy of £10,000.
It was a 6 month plan. Fuel in both Usa and Canada cheaper wild camping good.
That was 2020 and thn covid hit. Timing was good in that we got our flights an hotel fully refunded. And no significant other losses

Now I am over 70 all the insurance costs have gone bonkerz.
So it is now off limits !
ah well . We had no medical problems with covid so no complaints.
Sweden and Norway in 2023 an excellent substitution...WE HOPE !

After this year's heatwave in France, we are contemplating a Summer trip to Norway, so we might see you en route! Being a fresh-faced 69 year old, albeit with a 'dicky ticker' as the 'Allo, 'Allo forger Leclerc would describe it, I don't have insurance problems

We are due in Canada in May, booked an Alaska cruise and a 4 day stay in Vancouver, we have been to Calgary before and skied in that region, Banff, Sunshine and Lake Louis, lovely part of the world.

We were supposed to be flying direct from Gatwick with WestJet, but only two days ago the travel agent rung us up as West jet have changed there summer scheduled flight service now and it's no longer a direct flight, so won't work for us now. We are now flying from Heathrow direct with Canada Air.

Hopefully we will fullfil this trip this time as it was on our bucket list, but COVID had postponed it. Just need the train strikes to stop now, as we were going to let the train take the strain to take us from Blackpool to the airport, but no way are we booking a train while these strikes are still ongoing.

Yes Air Canada rescheduled our flights and Westjet seem to chop and change !
We use National express too and from Heathrow...Handy as they go to Gloucester and no changes.
You may find a single change at Manchester works for you.
