Can't run Win 11 go Chromebook 🤔👀✔

I don't mind people making suggestions you find out new things that way but after being told that you're not interested maybe they should just stop, I'm not suggesting that Linux is crap, I have tried it but for the way I use a PC it's not going to work for me, I have a Chromebook, and for what I bought it for it does the job, but it isn't up to windows standards.

I bet you couldn't run Hotmetal on the Chromebook or on Linux, not that I use it anymore, not sure it run on Win 10 actually, need to dig it out and see if it's still relevant nowadays.

Runs the Google OS, so some Android apps work fine on it.

How do you mean "short working life"?

They get ten years of updates, how long would you expect, it beats windows.

They get ten years from model release. Buy one five years later and you only get five years of updates.

I have Windows PCs getting win 10 updates despite being well over ten years old, though win 11 would be a show-stopper, hence the move to Zorin.

Is that why they call you Geek coz you can do sums?

Have you tried the flavors of mint, 4 desktops, i go for xfce most of the time, love lite but it requires a we bit of setting up to have a clear f page.
Pudsey will expload soon with more and more linux users on here. 😂

Yes, I've tried loads, but I like Zorin best, certainly as a windows replacement and for a general desktop PC.

Checked, had it 2 years so far.

This device will get automatic software and security updates until June 2031. Learn more

That's not as bad as I feared. The trouble is knowing what to do with it then. Landfill, I guess.

The nearest equivalent I have is some sort of HP chromebook-alike. It's supposed to be good to run Vista, but I doubt it'd have done more than crawl even then.

The only thing I have managed to get to work well on it is Raspberry Pi OS.

The biggest problem is that the battery died and a replacement is silly money. A shame, really, because it's a cute little device.
