Interesting article about how paying for a car park can sometimes cost more than expected,
What if there is other option Trev, you have an appointment, there is one space left, with no other option of payment than using an app?Serves them right for using smart phones, cash cash cash is the only way i will ever pay for anything.
It’s obscene Bill, for many it is tough out there, yet the vultures hoover around at other means to pick the money from folks pocketsInteresting article about how paying for a car park can sometimes cost more than expected,

You mean not pay and park up, then argue the toss or offer payment by cheque?I'd go as far as challenging them in court, Terry.
I'm at a stage in my life when I more often than not say 'bring it on!'
Too many people just go along with the supposed status quo cos they can't be bothered to challenge it, or are not in a position to be able to, or just couldn't care less one way or the other.![]()
Calderdale offer app payment with a "convenience fee" which is actually more than the parking charge![]()
I have scrapped my smart ph as it was full of google spyware which was starting to pick up stuff, so cash or i will do/go other. What if there is other option Trev, you have an appointment, there is one space left, with no other option of payment than using an app?
Aye I drop the missus off at the crossing before the carpark then wait outside the carpark or down at the bus station carpark rather than pay the parking. I think M&S give a refund at the till but I dont know how much for or if you have to spend so much to start with? They introduced a similar pay by phone system at the M&S car park in Hexham. Unfortunately it is the only way anyone can pay. Bonkers. It's upset quite a few locals who've simply voted with their feet. Unfortunately the car park is not owned by M&S, but M&S have probably lost a chunk of their business as a result of the greedy idiots who do own the car park. Don't businesses even bother to checking the demographics on the ground these days?!
It's not only older folk who are getting annoyed about these sort of scams, btw. Let's start calling a spade a spade. A scam is exactly what this is, however they might try to defend it.
As for me, they can go whistle with their so-called 'parking apps'. A venal, deliberately misleading business designed to 'legitimately' steal money from people up front. I'm 100% with Baz on this.
