It's chilly tonight in Chorley had to put the central heating on for the first time
Glad it all working after it's summer break
Who's had to put there's on?

We've had ours on.
I fitted a Hive system this summer and have just realised what I have done, Linda has it on her iPad, last night the heating miraculously turned on as if by magic.
I installed it to help control the heat when we are away, I thought, wrong.

Mine went on last night Saturday but wasn’t that cold on Sunday.

no....no.....not yet.....had the fire on for 15 mins a few nights ago........broke my principle of not using it till at least 1 oct.

however, i needed to get something well aired.........

extra woolie at this time of year.....i like to be very conservative with energy water etc.....in fact most things

Heating has been turned on on a nighttime for a few days just for a couple of hours

Heating On? don't understand the question. Heating ON?

Is there an OFF button anywhere?

Ah. Got it. you don't live in Scotland.

Now we've a smart meter was shocked how much an hour the heating costs will have to ask Julie to wear a coat instead of turning it on:)

I have an oil monitor and keep an eye on that ... down to 30% (so about 350L ) so think time to a splash (500L) of oil to see me through the winter

It's that time of year when it's far warmer outside in the sun than in my freezing house! I've had the heating on a few times when I've felt cold... especially with that awful feeling of breathing in cold air in the house. Never hesitate to turn it up a degree if I'm cold... no point paying out good money to shiver when you can be warm for sake of a degree or two :)

I agree with you Jennie it was like that yesterday but today with that wind if it feels chilly so heating is on now as we’re going to get ready and go to g/daughters birthday ?

Central Heating on?
I've only just moved from flip-flops to sandals with socks.
I like to be warm AND stylish.
Around about Xmas time I'll probably need to think about upgrading to trainers.
Sometimes, just sometimes, Nabsim and I have a degree or two of agreement.

I hope Colin that it’s about wearing socks with sandals each to their own.....BUT socks with sandals

Talk about going from the sublime to the ridiculous :ROFLMAO:
I'm still wearing the flip-flops during the day Colin but there comes a point in the early evening when I realise I'm turning to stone from my toes up and run for the sheepskin boots and a warm jumper!

Ah but you have gone to long trousers Colin and I am still in my shorts albeit with trainers :)

I am determined to try and go til I fully retire now (31st December) in shorts. They are beginning to believe I really have cracked up at work when I walk in wearing tee shirt and short and bung air con on when they all have heating on and wearing big jumpers :)

Neil and Colin have you both ever thought that when everyone else is different to you, it might not be them that are unusual !!!

Now I'm not saying that you are unusual but you could be classed as different, which can be a good thing.

Actually, Jeanette, Annie tells me I look quite the man about town in my sandals and socks.
But then I've always been a bit of a trend setter around the feet.
