..............and not just the bubbly.
The vines here in the Champagne Region of France have yielded their bunches of nectar to the pickers and are now settling down for their winter recess. They are doing their best to match the displays of colour on the trees higher up the sunny slopes - and to my mind are doing a brilliant job:

Here and there can be found the odd bunch of grapes that were passed by during the harvest:

I think these are Chardonnay grapes and now have a super-sweet taste of honey and raisins. They are truly delicious and well worth seeking out up and down the lines.

I must go - I have something pressing that really needs my attention:

Just remember you're T total and champagne IS alcoholic.
Those grapes must be verging on b being slightly alcoholic BEWARE.

'Tis a truly terrific place, but moving down the Loire there are one or two that produce a 'method traditional' that exceeds the champagne region by a country mile. Ackermans near Samour produce one of the finest fizzies that you will ever come across, they even do a red one. There's even a wild camp spot nearby

The colours, especially the sky, are absolutely stunning. The press is impressive (soz) too.(y)?

I can see what you mean, Sue.
The male model kind of completes the picture.

I totally agree, Oppy. I've been bringing a selection of wines back to the UK from Ackerman for some years now.
And this trip will be no different, insists my friends and family.
One of my favoured vintners when I tippled.
Or is that flavoured vintners when I toppled?
