Cheap Drone Recommendations

With my Syma it always had a lag on the wifi. I did read some forums where owners upgraded the antenna on the drone but I wasn’t wanting to get into that. I ended up junking the phone carrier and just using line of sight for flying. The video played back okay was just useless in real time 👍

Thanks Neil . I will not bother with upgrading antenna.
Live view useful for targetting photos (saved to SD card). Then cropping and aligning etc on laptop.
No phone is use today. Wait to see what happens when my new 5G phone arrives !
As you say keeping within view is key !

More testing and video today !
Some photos at the end.....................Silent Movie !
My first drone video
The "raw" video is mp4 details here

The still images are 4096 x 3072 Pixels (12.58 MPixels) (4:3)
So plenty of scope for cropping aligning etc

Yes..BIG slabs of concrete !
But a handy space for testing and learning !
As you see we have a pickup rather than a saloon !
In all modesty I have to say the correct choice (eg we have transported wardrobes and huge planks of wood. Gravel, sand, cement..even "loads a people" (Zero H &S) 12 bags of charcoal (similar old bags of coal but not as heavy !)
The roads in the village are similar about 1.5 cars width !
So careful does it ! The main roads are "proper tarmac"
Thai driving skills seem to have improved over the last few years..
But there are too many accidents/fatalaties
But I drive very defensively as I think most of us do with a Motorhome.
The biggest danger for a minor prang is on "local roads" partly due to motorcycles

Driving in Bangkok is similar to Rome. Paris or Cairo ! "challenging"
But at least they drive on the "correct side of the road"

Hi watched your first flight and videos. Gimbal stability looks a bit shakey. The images look pretty decent. The main thing is you are having FUN FUN FUN.

Hi again, I upgrade my phone to 5Ghz. Changed the settings to match in the app.
Now there is minimal lag and so FPV is working as it should.
I have found it is best to launch the app. then power up the drone. Then connect and go back into the app not logical

Having bought a new phone to connect at 5Ghz...
The drone can be controlled by just using the phone !
First impressions show smoother more delicate movements are possible !
Early days/flights
