Corsican ferries

Heading to Corsica for a month in September and have a quick ferry query if anyone can help.
Hoping not to have to pre-book the return date? Any advice?

I travelled over from Nice in September 2019. I was advised that the ferries get fully booked. The ferry going over was chocker.
I came back end of October, Sardinia-Genoa. That was half full but a much bigger boat.

Especially with a large vehicle. You could always book a date and then try to change it. We went Nice, Corsica and onto Sardinia and then reversed. We preferred Sardinia as easy to wild camp and more relaxed. Scenery better in Corsica though.
