I went to make my breakfast and came back to a blank screen, took it to the PC shop and the screen is stuffed, I hoped it was just the ribbon cable, but he checked it all out & so I sold it to him £50, I've ordered a i7 later version of the same one with touchscreen.

I've not been doing well lately, my phone was first a few weeks ago, it refused to turn on (I have had the same problem with wimmin), then my Samsung Tab A went & now the laptop, Tab A is still dead but the phone seems to have cured itself.

Very fast running lite, just to get him up to sort email out as i dont want to see his password, loaded vavaldi web engine which has email all in, very handy.vivaldi.jpg

Have you ever thought of digging a pond in the garden Trev?

I isn't lost I have been found.

Wanting.

At least his wife put a bit of make up on :D :D :D

It's bad enough having that crap on my Chromebook David.

I see a load of rubbish Trev, stop being a bleeding evangelist for tech no one is interested in.

Linux is great as a server OS but that is it nowadays.
I used to for a time run AT&T Unix System V R4 when it was the only way to have multitasking on your desktop, ideally using X Windows.
Once products like Desqview and Desqview/X came out and later MS Windows 3, that was far superior with far more support and flexibility. I no longer needed to have two PCs on my desk :)

Linux is great as a Hobby - if a hobby is what you want from a computer. If you use it as a tool and a way to do other things, there are far better ways.

I messed about with it about 15 or so years ago, and I also had a dual boot as well, but I got fed up of having to boot into windows for even minor stuff so I junked it for good, it was more of an annoyance than a useful OS.

Sorry but total tosh these days, many good desk tops on linux these day, mint lite zorin for starters, and things have changed in 15 years, the top distros are for work and play, email web picture formating etc, this is what 99% of what folk do at home, also very good for biz work and security.
You lot may have dabbled in the early days but things have changed big time, if you are not in you cannot win. 😂
