Dashcam footage

That is nothing new and clearly explained on the Police Force website when you submit the footage. You can post the footage after a prosecution has taken place. I submitted footage to Northumbria Police a few years ago, resulting in a Fixed Penalty notice for Careless Driving (nowadays 3 points and a £100 Fine).

Here it is.

No, it isn't new but I thought some might not be aware, Twatter a fartface is full of that sort of stuff.

hi guys . the police ARE useless our dash cam is switch on even if i go 4 miles up the road as we live in the sticks the worst drivers are WOMEN taking their kids to school because they cant get out of bed in time . they drive like fruit cakes down country roads we have lots of bad driving in the UK & EUROPE captured on dash cam footage so ours WILL be always switched on . cheyenne

I submitted some video of a lorry driver (a local coal merchant), going through two red lights, one whilst pedestrians were crossing! He then crossed double white lines and finally finished off disappearing rapidly out of sight in a 30 zone.

Iirc there was nothing on the snap site saying don’t publish it online but obviously common sense says not to because it could alter the outcome of any case if jurors saw it.

I doubt we will ever see the end of all the YouTube channels spewing this stuff out by the minute, most simply copy each others content as well.

The response below I got a few days ago from snap also doesn’t say anything about publishing it

Thank you for your recent footage to OpSnap.
After reviewing your footage a decision has been made to take action against the offending vehicle. Depending on the severity of the offence and the evidence submitted the likely outcomes will be a court hearing, a notice of intended prosecution or a driver improvement course. We in the first instance prefer education over prosecution but this will NOT take place if we believe court is more appropriate.”
Please retain original footage should the matter be required for a court hearing. If required this will likely be within a 6 month period and we will inform you that this is the case.”

You need not go direct to OpSnap, it can be done using the Nextbase site. This has all of the Police Forces who are interested in dashcam footage all the time (not just during crackdowns). It is handy if you are travelling out of your local area.
