Dashcam recommendations

I’d like to know what is being used these days for dashcams I can’t sucker one to my windscreen as the blinds will not close, however the mirror adaptor is not being used. I won’t need a rear view option either. Ideally I’d like to be able to download footage for use for touring reminders of where we’ve been.
 
I assume you mean Remis Blinds, could you mount it further back if you used this 3M stuff?

I buy it a metre at a time, it can take a good bit of weight and leaves no marks when removed I've had TomToms hanging off it and also a phone cradle, and I used it for keeping a couple of panels in place in my self build too.
 
I think this is a good all round camera. Myself and Tuggs had the one before this and it worked well, not sure what the latest version is, but it can be set to watch during the night when you are asleep or it's on the drive.

 
I have a NextBase dashcam. With the camera removed, the mount swivels towards the windscreen so that the Remis blinds can be closed.
 
It might be useful to include links to the cameras as there are so many out there now, some are not accepted by insurance companies although I think the actual footage is but you don't get discounted insurance premiums.
 
You despicable git why would I need spot lamp covers.
 
We have similar problem. The remis blinds exclude the use of a window sucker. On the last motorhome which was tranit based I mounted the dashcam from the ceiling near the rear view mirror mount. I would like to do the same with the ducatto and mount the dashcam from the roof out of the way of the remis blinds and run the usb cable discretely round the inside of the pillars. powered up when turn the ignition on so I have no faffing fitting it or remembering to turn it on each time.

Any one successfully mounted one from above like this ?
 
Could you sacrifice the internal cab light lens and mount it to that? you can always get another used one. or use the strips I posted above so no damage. You have a handy power source too.
 
Yes Pudsey that may work. Next time I’m in the Moho I shall investigate. The power is a good point but I would need to find a space for the usb power supply.

Without knowing more I can't make further suggestions.

I Have Remis blinds too I go the easy way and just use a sucker type carrier for my phone not the same issue of course but I can't do with all the messing about these days.

On my van, there is a mirror bracket underneath the drop-down bed over the cab. I really can't see why, because there is no rear window to look through. I've had a dashcam fitted to that for more than a decade. As far as I know it is still working. I had to fit a new battery every five years or so util I replaced it with a supercapacitor.
 
Do you have a picture Geek?
 
I’ve got the same mirror bracket, I suppose the chassis cab from Fiat will have one fitted to the windscreen from new, and not needed in most Motorhomes.

picture for me too so I can see how the camera fits to it.
