Draughts

Draught

I have a Draught from the cab.

I can’t seem to find where it’s coming from

We have a pair of curtains that go from top to bottom and some.
They are fixed to the sides as well.

There’s not much Draught from the cab now.

However if they are open you can feel the Draught around your feet.
I can’t find where it is coming from or should I say I can’t see any open vents ect.

I have just ordered an external screen cover that also covers the top vent.

It’s says just to stop leaves ect dropping in the vents.

I know it won’t stop draughts. It was for the cold trips out where the windows could ice up.

So the next thought is to make out of waterproof material a bonnet and grill cover.

Does any have one and has it helped with any droughts .
I have an engine protector fitted to the underside of the engine as well.

Interested to see if anyone has found where the worst of the draughts come from.
Have you a link to the Screen Cover you ordered 😉

It is for a 2003 fiat ducato but when your on the site there are many for other vans ect

Try where the seat belts fit in the bottom of the pillar (the inertia reel) that's where my draught was coming from (y)

So do you suffer from draughts and if so have you ever found them .
As you say it’s definitely not from the b pillars

Yes and I haven't found them all yet :( There's alot of people on the Fiat Forum complaining and I've checked most out but still feel a draught in the cab. Another one I found was from the door speaker grilles, my Hymer doesn't have speakers in the doors so I used some bubble wrap and duct tape to seal them up.

Ventilation is good, just use the curtain. Can be annoying sometimes if I have strong side winds but if its very cold and windy I move van. My biggest area is the top and bottom fridge vents and vent for the old gas air?water heating system. Suppose I should just block them all off but as I said, ventilation is good :)

Just to add, I no longer have the gas fridge and heating systems, the vents are redundant

I used to used some internal blocks for the fridge.
There just thin Perspex cut to size and shape then removed the exterior grills. Put the plastic inside then replaced the grills.

No draughts from there . And when removed there’s not much as I have insulated foam on both sides top and bottom from the outside two vents then fitted the heat deflector plates.
So there not much of a concern it was still the cab

I have a calorifier, piped into engine coolant and has a 1Kw immersion as well. Not something I have done, was like it when I got the van :)

edit: it doesn't lick c a l o r i f i e r lol, added this in case it changes it gain :)

I`am shure i saw somewhere there is a vent hole under the cab and you can get a plate from fiat to cover, also the battery box can let a huge draft through.
I have 3D printed those covers in the past. In fact I have a pair in the van that I printed for my 2017 Ducato but they were already covered in my van. Was going to offer them to the next nice person I met with a Ducato and draughts. Problem is....all those waving idiots ignore you as soon as you pull up next to them.😳😉 Strange world.

Ours is a 2003. Old high top swift. And believe it or not some not all of the newer oncoming vans the less chance of a return wave ..🚫
Newer vans must be hard to drive because the driver is either looking away or can’t take a hand off the steering wheel .

However we used to wave to everyone. When traveling motorhomes and pvc vans. .old and new. ✋🏻

I like to wave at Asda delivery vans, they usually give you a smile and a wave :)

The police don’t like anyone waving at them. But Eddie stobart lorry’s do 😂😂😂
