Ducato 2013 Windscreen replacement ?

Hello all,

Just discovered a chip and crack in the windscreen.
Has anyone with Remis blinds had the windscreen replaced ? If so do the Remis blinds have to be removed first ?

I had mine done 12 months ago and they don't touch the blinds

A lot depends where the chip and crack are as to whether they repair it or replace it. Your insurance company will have a preferred repairer and they will sort it. The screens come out without effecting anything on the inside.

Just don't get it done in Italy ! At least not where I was . Autoglass agent for the area , hadn't a scoobie . I ended up helping him . Black silicon everywhere

Auto glass came and replaced the screen today. Turned up on time. Did a very good professional job.

What a palava though, the bonnet, wipers scuttle and side panels all have to come off.
As stated above the remis blinds were undisturbed.

On the plus side I have a very clean screen!

I didn't know the bonnet had to be removed. interesting.

Better to remove makes it easier to get at the bottom seal and removes the risk of damage

Had to have mine replaced after a crack appeared on the passenger side, didn't affect the blinds at all but I wish I had a repair, as four years later rust has appeared around the windscreen where they cut out the old screen.

It was a chip with a crack of about 5inches on the passenger side. I was told it would be a mot failure. So with the mot only a fortnight away I didn’t think it was worth messing around with ‘fixes’ as the WS excess was only £75.

I watched them take out the old screen, they had an ingenious tool with pulleys that tightened a cord round the seal of the old windscreen to cut it off. Didn’t see them using any metal tools so I don’t think they could scratch the paint to start any rust.
