Hi all, Happy Christmas etc.
The hill holder feature on our Ducato's auto gearbox has stopped working. Local garage won't touch it. Main dealer wants £400 just to look at it.
Any ideas on where to start looking?

Any other info, warning lights on ....... other errors at same time? Things to look for would be poor earth strap, low battery level, possibly faulty brake pedal switch ............ or ££££££ ABS ECU. You need a friendly local mechanic who has Fiat fault codes on his scanner.

No, nothing howing up.
I'll find somebody with and OBD scanner.

I’ve always found it a bit iffy. It needs quite a steep slope and the correct procedure otherwise it doesn’t work.

Holding on the handbrake is usually reliable.

I believe there is a handbrake lever extender available for peeps with short arms. Should be listed on Amazon....🐻👍

Sounds like you have a few gremlins at the minute with the step and fridge and now this... as said already, might be related...?
K ;)

I have a Kobran handbrake extender that I've used for years now and find it great to use mind you my seats don't swivel.

I'm wondering if the step and fridge issues are connected as they both involve the EC400. I can't see how the Hill Holder issue is related though.

I drove through a really bad storm this summer the road was like a river. When I got to my destination the electroni we’re playing up and one of the faults was I lost the hill braking system wasn’t working and I lost cruise control and the gearbox was playing up had a local garage look at it they wiped the faults but they came back this went on for a while had a specialist with the right gear look at once I got home. Think the faults have to be erased in a specific order if not they come back. But water in the fuse box was causing the problem.
