Fitted on my 2007 MY (X250) Fiat Ducato Motorhome are Jones Springs VHD 3-leaf rear springs. These are VERY stiff - when the van is fully laden there is no sign of drop and the 3rd leaf doesn't even make contact.
I think these springs are very high quality but much more for a commercial van rather than a motorhome and I am thinking of replacing them with more standard 2-leaf springs to get a more comfortable pliant ride with less jarring and rattling.
So question is any suggestion where to source these economically?
And idea of time/effort to fit? thinking back to when I fitted some air bags and looking how the springs are in place, maybe an hour a side?

Fitted 2 leaf springs to my son's 2010 Ducato. We both cursed alot trying to line up the bolt holes. We got there eventually with pry bars and jacks. Next time i'd get a garage to do it

I fitted twin rear springs but they are still to harsh and the second spring never touches the main spring so I guess I'll just have to put up with them .I am toying with getting the lads at my mate garage to remove the bottom spring and it will lower the back an inch as it does sit a bit high .

IIRC, the previous (and only) owner of my Motorhome fitted the 3-leaf EHD springs after the original spring failed, which was just the single spring, which was a standard fitment for many vans. I suspect he tended to load to the max?

You could consider getting a single leaf spring kit and selling me your twin-spring set rather than adapting it ;)

It's only a matter of undoing the u bolts and removing the bottom spring David its not worth the hassle of removing the hole spring .

oh right. maybe I could do that with my triple-spring?
but then again, the third spring never touches so I think it is the steel the spring is made from as much as being a triple leaf setup?

You aren't carrying enough weight David koff, koff :)

When I had 3600kg in total on the van, the rear hadn't dropped at all and the 3rd spring was 'floating'! Need to do some kind of comparison with a normal setup.
