Duck tape residue

We have split our shower panel round where the tap is seated.
We have taped a bag over the tap and shower panel so we can use it.
Will it harm these to have tape over them for two weeks til we get home or should we remove promptly, to avoid the tape leaving difficult to remove residue🤔
 
Get a tin of lighter petrol from Poundland, cheapest & most effective way to wipe off the nasty sticky stuff.
 
I saw sone duct but that was aluminium of some sort, I thought I had read duck but indeed it is odd😀
 
The aluminium tape is used for sealing the foil backed insulation .
 
Acetone, available as Nail Varnish remover is excellent
 BUT
Make sure it does not have any oil or skin conditioner added. Usually the cheapest is best.
It is highly flammable.
Alcohol also works but needs to be much stronger than most drinks!
Buy it in a chemist, pharmacy or apothecary.
