Easter traffic advantage

Has anyone ever made a cuppa in a traffic snarl up? I know we’ve made sandwiches and a cold drink before but never had the gumption to boil a kettle.

A few years ago I was on my way to Newton Abbot, I left in the evening to miss the traffic.
On the M4 near Swindon there was an accident which shut the carriage way. Me and my grandsons where there for about an hour, once I ascertained that we were going to be some time I put the kettle on and we all had a drink but once we made it I got one of my grandsons to get out and walk around, he said why are we getting out? my reply was because we have a drink and all the other travellers haven't.
Childish but still very satisfying.

Yes we did years ago, I'd left work in Keighley at 5 pm on a Friday night, and we were heading for Skye in one hit, so I got Liz to brew up around the Moffat junction, I slowed to 55mph to lessen the movement of the van, she stood holding the kettle in place, getting the mugs ready with the other hand, the layout of the kitchen made it safer as there was a stick out worktop she would have hit in an emergency that she was leaning against, not possible in out present van as you need to have the lid up on the hob.
