Electric bike repair - rear wheel spokes

Cheek! I rarely move the motor off Level 1 and I do keep pedalling, Neil! It may be possible to get heavy duty spokes fitted for next time; I was just grateful that the Bike Shop Owner had the correct length spokes and was prepared to fit my bike in without an appointment! In the longer term, I may go mad and get a quality bike such as a Cube with better quality components; the counter argument is that bikes on a rear rack will have the paintwork hammered, and rust will play a part. The Hendeman Bike Cover has an open back, much easier to load/unload, but the design does allow spray and moisture to attack the bikes ... We bought the Biwbiks for shopping trips to Mercadona and local pootles to sightseeing/exercise. They do that OK, and spending a few € on repairs each year is something I can budget for.

I have a cube which I have had for about 6 years now with no roblems until this year when I am getting an error code on the control unit. I have no idea what it means and the bike still seems to function so I'll get it looked at when we're back in April.

Save your dosh, spokes are cheaper than bikes :)

But then again I know you won't listen to me haha
Not at all, Neil! I have said in 2 or 3 posts that there are pros and cons for new spokes and new bikes, and, the dreaded 'compromise' word surfaces. The good news is that I don't have to make a decision immediately. Depends on whether anything else falls off/ fails, what work we have to do on the M/home, the work needed on the new house, the sale of the flat, and our overall health, physical and mental, as a minimum. And whether the Bank Manager is still speaking to me ... :ROFLMAO:
