Make sure it doesn't exceed the continuous power output of the Inverter.

I bought one and very rarely used it. Then when I changed my Microwave I got one with a grill feature and found I could toast my bread in that just as well so the toaster sits forlorn and unloved in the cupboard.
 
We disposed of the toaster in the van when we got a low wattage air fryer. IMHO an air fryer makes far better toast than a toaster as it cooks it all the way through rather than just on the outside. Watch your teeth when eating though!

That last bit puts me right off the idea of using an air fryer for toast! sounds more like what you would get from Fried Bread :(
What is nice about toast - for me, anyway - is having it crisp on the outside but softer in the middle. This is why thicker bread is best for toast.

A toaster is not forlorn; that requires a mower, strimmer or shears ... :ROFLMAO: We bought a Tesco low voltage [850w IIRC] when we had the Gobur folding caravan, which had a tiny 'worksurface', barely big enough for the toaster, as we proved when we cuaght it with a hot saucepan and burned a large rictus mouth-shaped hole in the plastic casing on Day 2 of usage - gave it a distinctive appearance ... :oops:

I have a photo, Wully, of the setting up at Chinon campsite, where a Dutch couple watched with fascination. The roof [lid] is released, then raised on gas struts, and the front and rear walls are then slid and bolted into place, before the 2 side walls are raised and bolted into place ...

It was at the point that I had only to raise the side walls that I shouted to the Dutch couple, 'Do you want onions with your burger?' They understood the joke ... :ROFLMAO:

I used to be able to use a 700w toaster on a cheap modified sine wave inverter, 2000w peak 1000w continuous. It won't do it now, wondering whether I'm restricting the 12v current by putting it through the shunt for the battery charge meter. I can't remember the specification for the shunt.
Oh well, not too bothered, the only thing I use the inverter for now is to occasionally charge the ebike batteries
 
Mine's a Tesco cheapie but I don't bother with an inverter, only take it with me on rare occasions when I've been forced to pay for EHU, in which case I don't turn the gas on. I have a gadget that goes on top of the gas ring for most trips. Have to have my toast in a morning.

That's just the sort of toast I really dont like. Good toast is crispy on the outside, soft in the middle.
Best made on top of an Aga, but that's not a practical approach.
 
Best toast is made on a 3 pound Chinese square toaster that sits on any gas ring, I have been using one for last few years ,it’s still as good as as new.
 
The simple answer is you don't need a toaster. The best is a Ridge Monkey and if you haven't got one of those, just heat up your frying pan and chuck slices of bread on to it. Simples.

No don't get that type, had one years ago and they are useless, the slices of bread they are using in the photo are tiny, UK slices of bread don't fit on it and it takes ages.

A square one is better, as @Topmast says. One like this is the best I've seen working although I have a square one with holes in. 1758694799113.png
