Electrical overhaul.

So after a good weekend at Lanark Loch, hopefully the weather will allow me to install a new solar panel (twice the present size) and give my electrics a good overhaul. At the meet Phil managed to find a loose connection on one of my batteries, and that prompted me into action. I also need to remove my Mini-Heki as it has a temporary repair, and do a much better job of re-installing it. After all that I will have a 100w solar panel, a brand new Votronic controller, probably six mounting feet, all to sell. Happy days.:The_Sun_Emoji:
 
OK that's the overhaul done, re-arranged the cables, renewed some of the connectors, and cleaned the rest. I've removed the consumer unit in favour of an RCD adapter, as I only use mains hookup to charge the batteries in winter. Now I need some slightly warmer dry weather so that I can install the new solar panel, which will be connected to the C-Tek.

Yesterday managed to get the plastic mounting feet off the roof, and then washed the roof with its green Algae off. Stated measuring up the aluminium angle to make the new mounting system, and of course the weather has now gone into cold, wet and windy mode, and it looks like I may be delayed for at least a week!
 
Yesterday finished constructing the framework for the new panel, and today the heavens have opened up, next job will be painting the frame red, when weather permits, and install the new MC2 connectors.

Due to the lovely weather we have had, I finally got my new panel in place, needed help to get the panel up on to the roof, cos it's a bit heavy. Well pleased with the extra power coming in now, now I need a battery monitor!

Looks like a really nice job but have you left enough gap for the air to circulate underneath?
 
Yep, certainly have. I had to work with the shape of the roof, and its positioning, and on the nearside of the roof there is a lot bigger gap between panel and rail, and there are gaps in the frame rails for water to leave the premises
