if you fancy doing a dick strawbridge this is château fromental by our overnight stop we are about 2 mls from the A20 and 25 mls above limoges the aire is a carpark in the center of the village shared by the post office , village hall & the church with the moated château behind it’s got all the wet services and is a lovely rustic village

The second picture (the one of the vans parked up), notice the two trailers with rolls of cable (possibly fibre optic) on them, that to me illustrates one of the many massive differences living here in (semi rural) France to the UK.
We've been here 14 years and the lack of petty crime is very noticeable, I'm not suggesting it doesn't happen but noticeably much less than in UK, would they have still been there, only protected by a couple of cones when the contractors came back?
Having said that I guess it's probably no better in the large towns.
But then I guess you don't get gassed whilst parked up with your Rolex, i-pads and wads of cash in UK.
