Hi All. I have a Autocruise Starspirit 2004, which is fitted with Espachter blow heater, which is playing up. When I turn it on, you can hear it trying to fire up, with the clicking but it doesn't fire up. I've the camper about a year, and it's my first one, so I'm a bit green still. It does fire up sometimes stays on for a few mintues then turns off, all electrics seem to be fine, any ideas? Or does someone know where I can get it looked at in the East London, Essex area. Thanks so much x

Check the filter inside the pump , it is under the nut that the pipe is fixed onto , this is renown for blocking up

Has it worked in the past ? It is essential to have a good charge in the liesure battery as the Eberspacher doesn't like it if your battery voltage is less than 12v - ideally you should have at least 12.5v. As there is a high call on the voltage during initial start up, it is sometimes a good idea to have the engine running during the first 10 mins of operation.

Yeah did work fine all last year just lately been playing up. I'll check thanks so much.

Assuming it is either a D2 OR D4 The first thing I would look at is changing the plug strainer and fitting a new one (about £8) to do this is not always easy you need to remove the glow pin first and then hook the strainer out it's basically a barrel shaped metal mesh gauze I normally use a bit of bent welding rod if that fails get a tiny screwdriver and force it in between the strainer and the heater body and bend the mesh inwards and grab it with some needle point pliers it's not a hard job but can be awkward especially if the heater is fitted in a tight space, replace with the new one using the supplied tool reassemble and hopefully it should fire up.
On the other hand if it fires up normally and runs but cuts off after 15 minutes then it could be a faulty flame / temperature sensor. I'ts worth having a good look through this https://www.letonkinoisvarnish.co.uk/eberspacher_intro_1.html lots of diagrams and explanations . be careful if you try and check the filter built into the pump as the nut is easily cracked and they are normally very tight and possibly had thread lock on it, been doing ambulance heaters for years and never had problems with the pump filters run for years, my main things are the strainers and overheat codes, done three last week , oh and once you get it running don't forget to run it at least once a month even through the summer. If you are very unlucky it could be that the motor isn't getting up to speed therefore shutting the heater down unfortunately if the motor is faulty not much can be done apart from replacement or it could be the speed change over relay in the ECU again only option is replacement neither part is cheap.

Wow... Ok thanks so much. That all sounds a bit scary. But I will look and try and take it all in.
