Wife. The only kitchen gadget I know that works!

Big spoon
Fish slice
Bread knife
Small knife
Kitchen scissors
Grater
Corkscrew/bottle opener
Tin opener
Chopping Board

Although I suppose it's actually 11 if you're counting salt & pepper.

A toast rack was once described to me as a cold draught supporting hot toast.
But I guess you find your toast rack useful, Trixie? I've never actually used one.

A good garlic press

That's interesting, Aldra. I used my garlic press for ages but decided that it wasn't worth the effort involved in cleaning it - especially in the Moho. Now I use a chopping board and chef's knife instead.

I guess you peel veg with a knife, Caz? Is a fish slice like a large spatula?
I often use my chef's knife instead of a bread knife.

My silicone mat is my chopping board, just bendy. In an ideal world I like wooden boards but the silicone is much easier to keep clean.
No peeler, just my small knife. Don't like blemishes so I have to use a knife to dig them out so easier to just use a knife.

My silicone mat is my chopping board, just bendy. In an ideal world I like wooden boards but the silicone is much easier to keep clean.
No peeler, just my small knife. Don't like blemishes so I have to use a knife to dig them out so easier to just use a knife.

I assumed that silicone would suffer as a chopping board. Presumably it doesn't slide around much when in use?

Thanks, Steve. I'm thinking of utensils here as opposed to pots, pans, kettles etc.
Do you use your skillet inside the Moho? I've always used one for searing then cooking so would fill a Moho with smoke!
Also do you clean your skillet after use? I know some folks leave any fat burnt on the skillet as effectively a non-stick surface.

No problem moving around, and because they are so cheap you can change them when needed.

oh sorry, dont mean toast rack as what goes on breakfast table no.........tack that holds slice of bread over gas burner.....until it turns into toast......

we only have a small campervan....so no oven or grill.........have to improvise ...lol

No problem moving around, and because they are so cheap you can change them when needed.

Now I understand, Trixie. Same name, different item! I've used toasting racks when camping with the offspring many moons ago - they're very useful.

Peel veg? That's what the can opener is for. Peas, carrots and beans come in cans. The knife is for cutting cucumber and cheese, and the odd bit of celery or radish.

A fish slice is the thing you use to splash the fat over the top of your fried egg to cook the white properly, and use to lift said egg out of pan and on to plate. It's quite good for lifting fried fish out of pan too, without it breaking up. :Wink_Emoji:

Spatula is what you use to scrape all of your cake mixture out of the bowl and into the baking tin. I don't have one in the van because I can't cook, but there are some in my kitchen - legacy from Mother and Husband who were both quite good cooks. Compared to me, anyway.

I live and learn something new everyday. Thanks, Caz. I had the lifter/turner thing and spatula down as having the same name, one being rigid and the other flexible.
It never fails to amaze me just how little I know or understand. So much to learn, so little time.

dont forget the scraper use it for all sorts flipping eggs turning stuff crushing garlic is done between two pieces of 2x1 gentle crush first time to remove skin second one litte hard to crush it the paint scraper to scrape off into pan

short legged metal table keeps hot pans off surfaces and when cooking somewhere to put pans on the bed and it spans the sink
