Suppose I shouldn't moan since I do get the benefits of Elaine's Irish Passport re avoiding the 90/180 days kerfuffle, BUT:

Looking at admission prices for a visit in January 2026 - for me 22.27€, for her 14.85€ ... 'Nigel, come here ...' W⚓

Looking on the bright side, the rest of us saved £350 million. 😁
A round 1/2 that when accurate figures are used. IIRC, something like £157 million was never sent to Brussels and there were then sundries such as University Research Grants et al. And, of course UK has had to pay for items such as Agricultural subsidies that came from the EU budget. Finally, independent economists, initially headlined by Prof Jonathan Portes, forecast that UK economy would shrink by 4%-7% a year outside EU, and UK Government now acknowledges the 4%, albeit the economists are now upgrading the forecasts and about 5-5.5% is regarded as more likely.

This is not about the politics, purely the economics of the UK departure

I suppose the real test is when Trump finally turns his back on Europe, and the hope that the US would always come to our aid, disappears.
When the EU decides to defend itself, and leave these islands to defend themselves.
This mysterious £350 million would then seem cheap.

To my mind it is another Johnson mistake that we will regret.

( I make no apology for my political leanings)

Who from? From whom? (delete as necessary).

The second army in the World is actually the second army in Ukraine. 😁 Sleep easy my friend. 😉
