What inspection record? The insurance business is odd! We have a policy with Aviva Property Extra, through broker: CETA Insurance. Premium: £281.68 for a 4 bed detached house. Unoccupancy up to 180 days. Conditions are; internal inspection every 14 days, heating on low or water pipes drained (we did both). In the event of a claim they would want to see the inspection record and utility bills. We were previously with RIAS but on renewal they were no longer doing unoccupied cover.
Anyone know an insurance company that will cover the house unoccupied for more than 60 days and less than 90? We are with Tesco, who unfortunately started our policy before the other one finished so it expires whilst we are away, and cannot leave the property for more than 60 days unless ‘lived in’ - not sure how they would define that. If my daughter stays for 3 nights, would that count as lived in?
Just wanted you to know we insured with M&S, it was £50 more than our renewal for the unlimited cover. OUr renewal had gone up by over £100!Insured ours with M&S, 90 days ok and surprisingly no conditions about visiting inspections or suchlike. I phoned to double check as I found it hard to believe after struggling with others. Policy is with Aviva. Very easy to apply online, and a reasonable price…Cheaper than CAMC whose policy had rocketed.
Sorry, not clear, are you saying M&S had gone up £100? What unlimited cover are you comparing with?Just wanted you to know we insured with M&S, it was £50 more than our renewal for the unlimited cover. OUr renewal had gone up by over £100!
Our renewal with Tesco had gone up £100. The 'unlimited cover' was the upgraded version of M&S house insuranceSorry, not clear, are you saying M&S had gone up £100? What unlimited cover are you comparing with?
We insure our bungalow with CCC 180 DAYS UNOCCUPANCY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS , are yuou sure you can do more than 30 days on your next trip if going to Shengan? We're coming to the end of a 60 day trip (limited by the downrated Aviva policy T&C's re Unoccupancy Cover), so we'll be back for about 3 weeks (get M/home serviced, get lithium battery upgrade, visit GP for full service) and we'll start a new 60 days trip ...
Absolute bloody nonsense by Aviva
