Stopped at one of our favourite places, Simancas in Spain, lovely town and nice and sunny

we’re at an aire on the banks of the gironde just above bordeaux as well as a beautiful old town there is the obligatory vineyard before going for a taste thought i’d look it up too rich for my blood , the citadel dates from the 16th century but during ww2 the germans dug into the cliffs below and built massive fuel tanks 7 of them each holding M10 ltrs View attachment 77025View attachment 77026

Landed at Biarritz just before lunchtime, been for a lovely walk around the big lake with Roxy , the temperature is 23 degrees with sunshine but the wind has a slight chill with it, looks like a taste of things to come

We are in the Gabriel camping car aire near the big lake, only 5 minutes walk to the beach and as you can see stunning sunset

Don't forget the stroll up to St Leonard's Church. It houses GB's largest Ossuary in the "Crypt".
