Hello all,

We have always used the Caravan Club Red Pennant European cover. We like it because it covers both us and the moho.
We have had several incidents where the moho needed sorting and one where I needed to go to Hospital.

We were very happy with the way it was all handled.

Just tried to renew and the premium had increased to nearly £700. As per normal we got referred to medical screening.
Despite the medical conditions being the same, we were declined as the underwriters have tightened up their screening.

So now we are searching for medical cover and breakdown. So far Staysure (£632 basic multitrip for both of us) and Driver Guardian Rescue (£282 over 3.5t Europe)
seem to be the favorites .

Anybody used either of these ?

Anybody got any other recommendations ?

We use LV for Unlimited EU Travel Insurance, but with each trip limited to 90 days. £372.67 per annum with each of us with declared health conditions [heart attack, min stroke, 2 x pulmonary embolisms for me; high blood pressure for Elaine]. About 10% increse from 2024/25 on renewal in March 2025.

European Breakdown Cover with RAC [£229 in January 2025]

For the future, worth considering obtaining breakdown cover as part of your motorhome insurance policy. I have found Safeguard very good for this. And as @marchie has said, LV are good for the travel/medical cover.

Thankyou both for that. Good to know other’s experience.

RAC have quoted me £514.60 annual which felt excessive. Steve is saying £229 is this annual, over 3.5t ? Are you already RAC UK?

We shall try LV tomorrow.

£229 was labelled 'January Sale' by RAC and was near identical to AA who cocked up the original policy. M/Home is 3.5t and 5.99m [plus external bike rack = about 6.75m

Europe breakdown is £90 with AIB, 3.5t, 6m van. Not sure is this is available without taking out insurance as well.
