External Motorhome Cleaning

I just take it to Venture caravans and motorhomes on the A5 and the next day it’s glorious job done.
Cleaning aside, they are my nearest motorhome dealer. Do you use them for servicing? Not that I would want to take my 26 yr old Transit Autosleeper for servicing, but just in case . . . .
They have a fair number of 2024 campers (PVCs) in stock with up to £15,000 off list.

........

I got my MH ceramic coated and they provide "special" shampoo etc: will I buy more once the bottle is empty?
Well go on - will you?
I once went through the 'No we won't give you any discount (at which I should have got up and left) but we'll give you the SooperDooper Ceramic coating in the price" routine and they gave me a big bag full of associated sprays and cloths. I got rid of the 'treated' motorhome and bought a 25 year old one to replace it. I recently used the ceramic coating spray on it and so far I can't comment that it is any different than using regular polish.

With a Fiat of a certain age, like my 61 plate Burstner, the problem is actually the undercoat. When repainting it, it must be sanded down past the glossy undercoat in order to key the new paint coat. Otherwise the paint will once again start to flake off.
You did not mention the the self etching primer.

Or the self-etching chassis. . . .

I've noticed spots of rust when washing m.home. what can I do to avoid it getting worse and a respray?
I use Fenwicks m.home shampoo and elbow grease to clean m.home.

What do people use to clean the outside of their vans?
Just been told not to use car stuff as it can dammage seals and bodywork?
Also just been told you shouldn't do it when temperature high?
Thanks for reading.
I’m buying new van it’s the citron spacesaver base vehical converted by citron to a Campervan I’m taking delivery late summer I’m conscious of being careful when it will need washing I have been given advice not to use any chemicals just rinse with clean warm water …. My vw T5 that I am selling I’ve always used hair shampoo… if it’s kind enough on human hair then it should not do any harm to a steel made van what do others think I’m keen not to use anything that will interfere with the integrity of new paintwork

Where are the rust spots? Has it rotted from inside or from outside ?
Do you use it all year or not?
Rust normally doesn't get much worse through summer if its from outside & surface is polished regularly, however through winter with salt on roads existing rust just gets worse and worse if you dont repair it properly.
If you do want to stop surface rust in its tracks cheaply through winter - when its dry - scrape off all loose rust untill its as rust free as you can get it and rub in a decent amount of grease to effected area and this will give it a good water proof covering untill you repair it properly.

I have a rust spot on the bonnet of my Ford Transit, I applied a dab of ACF50 some years ago and it doesn’t appear to have got any bigger.
I see on Ebay -
ACF-50 & Corrosion Block Sprays & Block Greases.

ACF-50 Corrosion Inhibitor 369g [13oz] Aerosol

ACF-50 Anti Corrosion Lubricant 32oz Spray

ACF50 400ml Spray

I just googled ACF50 and the above lot was some of was shown

Which do I get?

Noticed mm sized spots on the bonnet and a few mm larger spot above front window and where it meets the roof. It's about halfway along this area above the window - of course it's the bit I'm just too short to reach! The last time I did try to reach, I fell off the ladder and broke 2 ribs, hurt my knees, hands and pride! 😆 🤣
Appreciate folk taking the time to reply. Thanks.

Yes, I try to use mh all year round.

I bought a litre bottle which came with a spray bottle so an aerosol would cover to great an area so a spray is probably more convenient to use.
