Our previous van with the home made Dutch Blinds to keep the heat out when open

Would love to make something like these, and maybe incorporate Solar even!

If you want to use external screen covers and want to let in light in the morning. The covers made by Taylor Made have a roll down centre section.

The reason I did not get exterior blinds was where to store them especially when wet? I use internal blinds when parked up for the winter but not when touring as our curtains and blinds are sufficient and again even internal blinds are bulky..

K
I use one of the waterproof bags that you get for caravan grey waste barrels. It ties and is waterproof.

I wanted to put something over windows on the outside so I would need something similar to the “Silverscreens” material. Tks anyway for your suggestion.

You can get rolls of shiney metalised bubble wrap type of material from most large DIY stores.

should be possible to make your own custom interior or exterior versions.

Unless I can track down a set for a LHD Hymer Starline 680, I may have to aquire some sewing machine and tailoring skills.

As a temporary measure I used an emergency blanket to cover two side windows because it was very hot this allowed me to keep the windows open, it worked a treat.

Our van came with a set of internal silver screens and so far they have been great for us. Not dont any real bad weather yet but got some snow and cold up in Scotland at easter and was okay, yes there was some condensation but only a couple of minutes to clean and dry screen and at least it mean the inside gets a clean :)

Will see how we go but at the moment I dont think we will get externals, cant really see the potential messing around in bad weather is worth it while fitting. If you are staying in one place a while its not so bad but dont fancy getting soaked each morning and evening putting them on for one nighters. We dont leave screens up in the day as we like the light and seeing whats around us when inside. Its all a learning curve though so will keep an open mind :)
