Would appreciate if there is anyone going to Orkney who can help with a small problem.
As you can see from the photo the top of the leg has come out and cannot be easily reconnected ( by me!!!).
Have been given some ideas of different solutions but if anyone has the right tools for the job then there will be some beers ( or even a dinner if you don't drink!!), in it for anyone who can help during the Orkney gathering. FB_IMG_1622466905755.jpgFB_IMG_1622466905755.jpg

Hi
An easy fix really, a small rivet nut fitted in place of the existing rivet or drill and tap a new hole and fit a new M4 stainless screw.
Don’t suppose you live anywhere close to Nantwich?

Hello. We are currently in S. Wales making our way up to Orkney. 5 nights near Prestatyn, 1 night Chester, I night Aysgarth then up to Kinross!!! Thank you for advice. We are full timing so don't carry much in the way of drill kits etc with us and I am not a technical person!!!!

If you are stopping at Colman's in Aysgarth you may find Matty may be able to help you.

That rivet has torn out of the surrounding aluminium box section. It really needs the top 2cm or so sawn off and then drilled to match the position of the hole in the cast alloy hinge. Once the rivet / s are put in, it the needs the dimples on the other sides hammering in, as they are in the original. All doable in a 30 mins with the saw, riveter and hammer.

We will see you on the site. Thank you very much. Just look for a Rapido NK06PVV.. Will let you know pitch number shortly.
Regards Andrew and Sharon
Might see you on the road on the way up there first stop will be just before Shap on the A6 that's 350 miles then up to Carlisle pick up A7 towards Edinburgh playing it by hear where to stop next
Regards Dave and Rhona
