Hi folks,

Hope you're all keeping well and having a fantastic summer.

I brought one of these recently, fitted it myself and just wondered if there is anything unexpected I should know.
Its well above the number plate, there's no more than 50kg loaded and the overhang is less than i metre.

In the UK, do I need one of those overhanging load boards or is that just in Europe?

Hi Nick,
They are not required in the UK. But if you head abroad, you will definitely need one.
The only thing is you have to make sure the stripes ‘point’ to the centre of the road. They only apply to the Continent, so you will be driving on the right hand side, therefore the stripes must point down to the left, pretty much how your photograph is. They have no legal use in this country. If you venture as far as Italy your board must have red reflectors in each corner. HTH.

For both Spain and Italy, the Warning Plate needs to be metal, rather than the cheaper, lighter, corrugated versions offered on t'internet
