Booked my motorhome into the fiat professional at Walton summit today to have it serviced early and checked over before we set of to Spain, I gave the chassis number and he said there has been a recall on a break clip, it's a 2018 motorhome, do they not normally send out letters to you when a manufacturer issues a recall, only I have had nothing and wouldn't been aware of it if I had not booked it in early for a two year service.

Mine went in for a service today to Fiat professional, Walton Summit and to check the break clip, it was fine, so they didn't need to do anything. it was a low mileage classed as a two year service, even though the vehicle isn't 2 years old yet, so they only changed the oil and filter, fitted a new pair of windscreen wipers and changed the brake fluid and checked everything else, handbrake got adjusted, they tested the battery. They also tested the brakes on the rolling road machine and give me a print out with the brake readings and also the axle weights, I presume the brake tester can weigh each axle. I dropped it off at 9.30 am, I said I would wait for it, Jesus it wasn't finished until 3.00pm, think the mechanic must have fallen asleep in the van. The bill was £423.00 the next service is in another two years or 30,000 miles which ever comes first thank goodness.

Thats good to know not that bad for main dealer If it’s every two years🤞I’ve changed the oil and filters myself I’ve always ran diesel vans for work and had an insane uncle who brainwashed me into changing oil and and filters every 10000 miles on a diesel I’m scared to temp fate now so keep this habit up religiously.

Hi we have a fiat Rapido 2019 whilst in France had to get a new mirror fitted it was this garage that told us the van had a recall notice nothing specific however they would not do the check we went to several fiat garages that said the same... because the van was so new the paperwork was still pending for warranty work eventually got a fiat dealer in Alicante to complete the paperwork then went back a week later , bit scary driving around with a break recall but turned out to be the brake pipe clips which were all fine. we did not get a letter from manufacturers or supplier....

That`s not a bad habit to have and doesn`t cost a fortune if you buy the oils and filters when on offer (y)

I`ve got 2 years worth of branded oils and filters for the motorhome and car all bought on crazy, crazy offers on Ebay a short while back.

Why 30,000 thought they were 20,000 service intervals although my main dealer only added 10,000 on service display when I stumbled across it after first 2 year service at just over 18,000 as I was going away.

Got my letter last Monday the 3rd and had it checked next day at Fiat Professional dealer in Gloucester. No work needed and like all the others they had already checked,

Yes, manufacturers normally send out letters, but with motorhomes there can be some complications with more than one manufacturer being in the chain; the system relies on the base vehicle manufacturer knowing where it has ended up. It's possible to check yourself, not only for the base vehicle and the motorhome conversion, but also for recalls on other items such as tyres: https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall
