Hi we are in France now and will soon have to fill lpg cylinder up .we have gasit system inside locker we have filled up a few years ago no problems . But on the app EU lpg lots of garages state no filling of bottles or cannister does this mean if bottles are in locker you can still fill up thanks

I have to open my locker door to access the filler connection. It is very obvious what I am doing as I have to screw on the relevant adapter. Not had any issues in France or Spain, although Total in France have a no fill policy and may refuse to serve you. They are usually dear anyway.
I generally look for supermarket locations were often it is unmanned so less likely to cause suspicion.
I have 2 x 11kg gasit bottles and my preferred app for all fuel types is Fuelflash.eu although not always easy to download in the UK.

You don't state where your filler point is - inside the locker or on the side of the vehicle. If on the outside of the vehicle, you should not encounter any problems. Self-service LPG pumps are pretty much the standard in France; I assume that @marchie was referring to unmanned filling stations with automated payment. Some of these do not permit LPG self-service outside manned hours. Automated payment systems for LPG vary, but if the LPG pump is alongside a petrol/diesel pump, you may find that card payment is at the latter, and that you then select the fuel type required. One of the most comprehensive sources of information regarding refuelling locations in France is https://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/ on which you can select fuel type and location (including along a route).

I have had to prepay for LPG on three occasions in the last few months in France.
Go to the till, give them €20 or so and they set that as your maximum amount.
Fill up and return to the till to get the balance back.
Bit of a fiddle but worked well.
Incidentally beware of prepayment for Diesel at Truck pumps. They may take up to €1,000 from your account. You do get the balance returned a few days later but it is a lot off your account! Car pumps usually take between €100 and €150. Manned tills only take the actual cost of the fuel you have put in your tank.
