Anyone & all you Morothomers out there with fridges & fridge freezers, which can be such a nightmare if you don't know what's going on with it, like mine was through April & May as I did the prepping for Europe. The Dometic Fridge Freezer just would not start or run on Gas. I've always managed, to get it running after a long winter, usy hoover out the Burner, & check the Burner Control Box connections.
This time, none of that worked, so, technician consultations were required. Now, try and get one of them in the spring, for love or great bags on money, no joy.
So, in the end I took matters into my own hands, purchased a new Burner, didn't fix the problem, then bought a new Burner Control Panel/Box, no joy, bought a new Gas Valve, no joy, WHAT?? Eventually found a technician to communicate with, said I might need to check that the new Burner Control Box, might not now be recognized by the PCB, or Eye Brow as the Yanks like to call it. So, I took it out with great difficulty & sent it to secs-maryport, no faults.
Eventually found a Dometic Engineer in Germany who, after some discussion advised that I get the wiring in & around the Burner Control Panel checked, as there's definitely a disconnect in that area. He advised speaking to Wests Motorhome Repairs in Rainham Essex. I did, and they confirmed what The German said, AND, that I should 1st check it my self. Pull the multiplug on the top left corner of the BCP, & if the contacts are a dull grey galvanised colour, they need to be cleaned very carefully, as that corrosion will impede full contact. Then apply a Electrical Contact Spray & replace it.
Did that, & BINGO.
I hope this helps everyone prepping after a long wet or damp winter PERIOD.
