Garage Damp

They rejected the offer as Motorhome Depot Rep said it's not that bad(The floor is not solid anymore). Asked if would inform other buyers and just pointed to terms and conditions. So I guess that is a no they aren't going to tell unsuspecting families it has damp and hopes someone pays top money for it. Very poor but they will say it's not their own van.

If demand is still high the they are less likely to accept offers, if the layout and configuration is rare then even more so. I don’t know what the construction of this van is but one like mine with sand which construction leaks wouldn’t be a big issue. If it’s wooden framed then it’s more of a problem. As Trev has said (and shown) repairing the floor isn’t hard. If it’s in the garage area you should be able to cut and replace as needed as no cabinets to mess around with?

Depends how much you want that particular van. Can I ask, why are you so worried about the mileage? Personally, so long as it’s been serviced I wouldn’t worry about a higher mileage, my van has now done around 105k and sweet as a nut (hole I haven’t just jinxed it). My thoughts are it’s preferable for a vehicle to be used than sat around, it doesn’t do motors a lot of good sitting.

Thanks for the reply Nabism. The mileage isn't bad at 40K. Apparently, the last owner did both sides the habitation and the engine servicing. Now that is since 2017 so you are relying on his ability to maintain the van. Now the MOT is clear so nothing on that side but obviously you don't know of any issues unless the OBD system maybe would report any issues. Yeah, the vehicle has done very few miles in the past couple of years due to COVID and the guy who maintained has passed.

If it is the model you are after and they are hard to come by I would go and have another look and see if you can get a better idea of what (if anything) you would need to do. If it’s that chequer plate garage lining not sure you can get under without tools but by looking inside and out you may be able to see what area may need treating. If it is only lifting the liner and replacing a bit of flooring it may be a cheap and easy fix. You can pay around £115 for a sheet of 3/4 making ply currently so a lot more expensive than a couple of years ago 👍

If it’s not for you then good luck with your search.
